HAERTER FARMS in Hosmer, South Dakota consists of thousands of private acres of cropland, tree rows, wetland sloughs and plush grasslands. The land is farmed for agricultural purposes, but the habitat is managed to attract wild pheasant, hungarian partridge and sharptail grouse. Pheasants are obviously the main attraction here in South Dakota, however, sharptail grouse, hungarian partridge, ducks, geese and whitetail deer call the state home.

The South Dakota pheasant season begins on the third Saturday of October yearly and runs through the end of December. Haerter Farms offers pheasant hunts for wild South Dakota pheasants only.
