PACKAGES & RATES:
Pheasant Hunting:
South Dakota pheasant hunting season begins on the third Saturday of October yearly and runs through the end of December. During the first week of the South Dakota pheasant hunting season, hunting begins at 12 noon central time. After the first week, and for the remainder of the South Dakota pheasant hunting season, hunting begins at 10am. These scheduled hunting start times are monitored by the South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks Department.
Haerter Farms offers pheasant hunts for wild pheasants only. There are no preserve or hatchery-raised pheasants on our properties. Lodging is included in your hunting package. You will stay in our farmhouse two miles outside of town. At the main house in town, you'll have access to the bar, pool table, big screen tv and hot tub. We strive to make you feel right at home.
Mornings start at the local diner for breakfast, and from there we'll go pheasant hunting. A guide will assist you with his well trained hunting dog(s). If we don't have our limit of pheasants by noon, we'll have a sack lunch in the field and hunt until we're done. From there we'll head back to town to lounge for the evening while your guide cleans, packages and freezes your birds for you. You are welcome to sit in the hot tub, watch movies, have some drinks... just relax and have a good time. Dinner will again be at the local diner where you will enjoy the home town atmosphere. After dinner you are welcome to come back to the main house or retire for the evening.
